Razer BlackWidow X Chroma Driver, Setup, Manual & Software

Razer BlackWidow X Chroma Gaming Keyboard

Razer BlackWidow X Chroma Driver, Setup, Manual & SoftwareThe BlackWidow X Chroma eschews the USB pass-through in the standard BlackWidow versions, but past that, it’s everything you would expect from a full-size computer keyboard. The best variant has five additional macro keys, while the playoffs variant is tenkeyless. Beyond this, there is full RGB lighting, at least at the Chroma variant — other options have only one color or no light in any way.

Typing isn’t quite as comfy as I am used to, and it revealed. On a standard Dell office computer keyboard, I scored an adjusted 113 words per second, while on the Razer BlackWidow X Chroma, I scored 108, even after a couple of efforts to help me fix. Though the keys were amazingly responsive, also, it looked somewhat easier to strike an adjoining key by accident, because the faceplate was too heavy to prevent my finger out of inadvertently tapping keys.

The BlackWidow runs on the intuitive Razer Synapse 2.0 software, though you’ll most likely be just fine if you never put in it. You may create various profiles and connect them to matches, in addition to record macros. But with no excess macro keys, there is not much reason to do this; if you need macro keys, then you are better off springing to the Chroma version.

The Keys Razer BlackWidow X Chroma

Like other BlackWidow keyboards, the X Chroma provides you a choice between clackety Razer Green and silent Razer Orange switches. We analyzed the Green version and found that the keys responsive and noisy, as always. They do not measure up to industry-standard Cherry MX switches, however, Razer does have some promising information on that front. Over the upcoming few months, Razer will begin to provide BlackWidow keyboards with Cherry MX Blue switches.
